Stumbled upon this place while looking for things to do over the weekend. I called Ken and he was more than accommodating given our last minute booking. Between all of the forging and hammering, we got to chatting with Ken and he's a delight and clearly passionate about this place. If you've ever been curious about what the contestants on Forged in Fire go through, you'll very quickly find out that it's no joke. This class was hard work but so fulfilling seeing a hunk of metal slowly turn into a functional knife, and taking home something you've made feels awesome. Ken walked us through every step of the process and even explained some of the science behind it and talked us through the logistics of what it takes to run a forge. To my knowledge, there's nowhere else between Toronto and Ottawa that offers classes like this and it's worth every penny.

I just went to the railroad spike class today and it was so fun! It’s not all about hammering metal. Getting to see with demonstrations and do the real craftsmanship was satisfying. I would definitely go again.

Just had the absolute honour of spending the afternoon in one of Ken’s very informative railroad spike knife making workshops, and let me tell ya, it was an absolute blast. I highly recommend taking your curiosity to the next level, in one of Ken’s several workshops. I most certainly will be back.

I took the tomahawk class with my two sons and it was fantastic. They had a great time and Ken was an awesome instructor. He provided excellent guidance and great feedback.I've done some forging in the past, but life got in the way and it was put on the back burner. This experience has given me the kick that I needed to dust off my old tools and get back at it, with my sons now also excited at diving deeper into the hobby. Thanks for a great day Ken!

Excellent day full of comprehensive instruction, lots of handy tips, and a beautiful firepit poker at the end of it. This class inspired me to set up a home forge. Thanks Ken.

As a sword enthusiast, I was so excited when Ken opened up an accessible ironworks in a convenient downtown location. Just from one beginner's class, you can tell Ken has a well-honed approach to his art and is a passionate instructor. He shows you how smithing can be safe, therapeutic, rewarding, and fun. Not only is starting your own smithing journey more affordable to the layman thanks to his well equipped shop, but his expert advice is invaluable to smiths of any skill level. I and everyone I know who has taken one of his courses have not stopped showing off our work, and I cannot recommend trying blacksmithing for yourself enough!

I attended the introductory course in April. My wife knew I was interested in the craft and surprised me with the course for my birthday. All required material, tools and equipment were on site and ready to go. Ken was very thorough explaining the basics and stressing safety for all involved. Ken also provided just the right amount of advice but still allowed us to explore and experience success at our own pace. By the end my arm was exhausted and I wish that I had done some cross-training with a heavy hammer.I made 2 BBQ tools in the 4hr session that I attended. The tools turned out surprisingly well. My steak hook is now my go-to tool for slab meat on the bbq. I was thrilled for the experience and have been YouTubing smithing hammers and projects since then.Overall I had a great experience and have recommended it to many of my friends. I plan to go back and try a few new projects and improve on my basic skills.

I recently had the privilege of attending a knife-making course at Ken Wentz's Got Your 6 Ironworks. It was an experience that exceeded my expectations and left me with a newfound appreciation for the art of forging. From the moment I stepped into the workshop, I was captivated by the atmosphere of creativity and craftsmanship. Ken Wentz guided us through the process with the ease and confidence that comes from years of experience. His professionalism was evident in every aspect of the course, from the well-organized workspace to the clear and detailed instructions. The highlight of the course was undoubtedly the opportunity to forge my own knife from a railroad spike. Under Ken's expert guidance, I was able to transform a simple piece of metal into a functional and beautiful tool. The process was challenging yet incredibly rewarding, and I was amazed at what I was able to create with my own hands.Ken's depth of knowledge and passion for his craft were truly inspiring. He was always ready to answer questions, share insights, and provide helpful feedback. His enthusiasm was infectious, making the learning process enjoyable and engaging. In conclusion, I cannot recommend Ken Wentz's Got Your 6 Ironworks highly enough. Whether you're a seasoned blacksmith or a curious beginner, this course offers a unique and enriching experience. If you have an interest in forging, don't hesitate to sign up. You won't be disappointed!
